மஹாதேவனே! வேடனாக வந்து அருச்சுனனைப் போர் புரிந்தவனே! பிறைச் சந்திரனும் கொன்றை மலரும் கங்கை நதியும் தரித்தவனே! உயிர்கட்கெல்லாம் தேவனே ! திரிசூலமேந்திய நாதனே மேரு மலையை வில்லாய்க் கொண்டவனே ! தீயின் வடிவானவனே ! பரா சத்தியின் நாதனே திருவையாறென்னும் தலத்தில் விளங்கு நாதனே! சங்கத் தமிழ்த் தலைவனே! முத்திக்கு நாதனே! எமக்கு மூன்று தமிழை (இயலிசை நாடகம்) ஈவாயாக
Oh Lord Mahadeva, the one who came as a hunter to test Arjuna, the Lord who adorns Ganges, Moon and Konrai flowers in his matted locks, Lord of Jivas, one who holds Trishul as a weapon, one who wielded the Sumeru mountain as a bow, one who is the of the form of fire, Lord of Shakti, Lord who resides in the holy place of Thiruvaiyaaru , the leader of Tamil Sangam, Lord who grants Mukthi, please grant us the gift of three forms of Tamil

வள்ளி மாதின் காதலனாகி அவளது ஏவல்களையும் செய்ய விரும்பி வேடனானவனே மதி மலரும் வழி அமைப்பவனே (உயிர்களுக்குப்) போர் என்று வரும் வேளையில் சற்றும் மயக்கம் இல்லாத வீரனே தீயின் அம்சம் கொண்டவனே, சிவந்த நிறத்துடையவனே , சத்தியாயுதமாகிய வேலைத் தாங்கிய நாதனே, உலகிற்கு வழியாய் விளங்குபவனே சங்கத் தமிழ்த் தலைவனே, முத்திக்கு நாதனே! எமக்கு மூன்று தமிழைத் (இயலிசை நாடகம்) தந்தருள்வாயாக
Oh Lover of Goddess VaLLi, one who took the form of a hunter to marry her, one who shows the path to blossoming of the mind/ intellect, when a call comes to war one who is always ready to fight in full vigour, one who is form of agni and ruddy complexion, the Lord who wields the Shakti or vEl, the leader of Tamil Sangam or delegation, the Lord who grants salvation, please grant us the boon of the three forms of Tamil.
