நீர்மலி வேணிய னெற்றி விழித்த நெருப்புப்பொறி
சீர்மலி கங்கையைச் சேர்ந்து  குளிரச் சரவணனாய்ப்
போர்மலி சூரணி போழ்தற வேலெறி புங்கவனாந்
தார்மலி சண்முகன் சார்வெமக் கென்று மடைக்கலமே 

நீர் மலி வேணியன் நெற்றி விழித்த நெருப்புப் பொறி

சீர் மலி கங்கையைச் சேர்ந்து குளிரச் சரவணனாய்ப்

போர் மலி சூரணி போழ்து அற வேல் எறி புங்கவனாம்

தார் மலி சண்முகன் சார்வு எமக்கு என்றும் அடைக்கலமே

 Lord Shiva who has the wholy Ganges on his head, spurted out sparks of fire from his third eye and this was carried on to the purity giving river Ganga and once it cooled down in Saravana water body it transformed into Saravana - Lord Murugan who went and defeated Suran and his team in the battle swiftly with his vEl and this great one who sports a beautiful Garland in his chest, that Shanmuga's association is always our refuge!
