ஓயாம லுழல்வதற்கு வழிபலவா முலகெங்கு
     முன்னாமஞ் சொல்வதற்கோ வுணர்வில்லை முன்பெல்லா
நாயாக வலைந்தேனை நாட்டம்பல கொண்டேனைத்
      தானாக வந்தாண்டு நல்வழியி லமர்த்தினையே
தோயாமற் தோயமேற் றாமரைபோல் வாழ்வதற்குத்
      தூமலராண் மருகோனே வுனையன்றி யாருரைப்பார்
சேயோனை வாயாரச் செந்தமிழாற் செப்பிடவே
     சிறியேனை வைத்தவனைச் சாந்துணையு மறவேனே

உன் நாமம் செல்வதற்கோ உணர்வில்லை முன்பெல்லாம்

நாயாக அலைந்தேனை நாட்டம்பல கொண்டேனைத்

தானாக வந்தாண்டு நல் வழியில் அமர்த்தினையே

தோயாமல் தோயம் மேல் தாமரை போல் வாழ்வதற்குத்

தூ மலராள் மருகோனே உனை அன்றி யார் உரைப்பார்

சேயோனை வாய் ஆரச் செந்தமிழால் செப்பிடவே

சிறியேனை வைத்தவனைச் சாம் துணையும் மறவேனே  

To get drenched nonstop in the delusionary world, there are endless possibilities, there was no urge to chant your name earlier, to the lowly one who was roaming around like a dog among various desires, you came on your own and showered grace and showed the right path, to live in this world like a lotus not getting wet in the water it resides in is a philosophy no one could have made me understand other than you oh nephew of Mahalakshmi, to keep singing the praises of you oh Karthikeya in the classical language of Tamil, that too to a lowly person like me, is a gratitude that can never be forgotten even at the time of death!
