பார்ப்பதி பாதம் பணிந்து வெண்பா

 மாயனைச் சேர மனவுடலை யொன்றாக்கித்

தூய தவம்பேணத் துப்புளதோ? - வாயினு

நோற்பதெனின் பாவையர்போ னோற்போ மடைவழியாம்

பார்ப்பதி பாதம் பணிந்து

சீர் பிரித்து

மாயனை சேர மன உடலை ஒன்று ஆக்கி

தூய தவம் பேண துப்பு உ(ள்)ளதோ ? ஆயினும் 

நோற்பது எனின் பாவையர் போல் நோற்போம் அடை வழியாம் 

பார்ப்பதி பாதம் பணிந்து 

பொருள்-

மாயனாகிய நாராயணனை மனத்தையும் உடலையும் ஒன்றிசைத்துத் தூய தவம் நாட்டத் துப்பு உள்ளதா (நமக்கு)? (இது பெருமளவு இயலாது என்பதே கருத்து) அதுவும் சுய முயற்சியால் சாத்தியமன்று !  ஆயினும் அவ்வாறு நோன்று தவம் மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும் எனின் பாவையர் போல் பூமிப் பிராட்டியின் கேள்வனான திருமாலையே வழியாகவும் அடைவாகவும் (உபாயம் / உபேயம்) கொண்டு அவன் பாதம் பணிந்து அச்செயலைத் தொடங்குவோம் என்றவாறு.

அடைவழியாம் பார்ப்பதி என்பதை பாவை நோன்பு காத்தியாயனி தேவி அல்லது பார்வதியை வழிபடு தெய்வமாக நல்ல கணவனை அடைய பாவையர்கள் கொண்டதாகக் கொண்டாலும் தகும் = அடையும் வழியாம் பார்ப்பதி/பார்வதி 

Do we have it in us to unify our mind and senses and enter an austere life in search of attaining Mayan (Vishnu), Most likely this is not posible, and surely not by self effort! If, nevertheless we want to enter into such a path, then we should be doing it like the Paavai maidens who took the Lord of Bhumi Piratti (Mahavishnu) as their means and end destination to be attained by taking shelter at his holy feet. As a second interpretation one can take the Word Paarpathi to mean Parvathi Devi who is the Goddess to be propitated by the Katyayani vratha as a means to attaining a good and noble husband - in this case to attain Lord Narayana and oneness with him as AndAL and other pAvai maidens undertook. In this interpretation one can view Goddess Parvathi Lord Narayanas sister in the role of a guru and help the devotees in attaining him!
